March 14, 2024: Max Capacity Reached at 'Strike School,' Where SF City Workers Consider Striking as a Last Resort to Protect Public Services

(San Francisco, CA) — On Wednesday, March 13, public employees represented by San Francisco labor unions including Teamsters, IFPTE Local 21, SEIU Local 1021, and more attended 'Strike School' to learn their rights and prepare for a possible strike if City administrators fail to fix the urgent staffing crisis that has resulted in over 3,700 vacant permanent positions. Max capacity at the first Strike School session was reached and unions have more Strike School sessions planned.


February 27, 2024: Over One Thousand San Francisco City Workers Rally and Release New Report to Shed Light on Wasteful Contracting Out

(San Francisco, CA) — On Tuesday, February 27, over one thousand San Francisco city workers represented by IFPTE Local 21, SEIU Local 1021, and other City unions rallied outside of 49 South Van Ness Avenue to draw attention to wasteful contracting out. The rally coincided with a special report released today by City Unions, which demonstrates how private contractors inappropriately manage city services.


February 16, 2024: Over 500 San Francisco City Workers Rally Against Outsourcing at SF General Hospital

(San Francisco, CA) — On Friday, February 16, over 500 San Francisco city workers represented by SEIU 1021, IFPTE Local 21, and other City unions rallied outside of San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center to shed light on the dangerous impacts of understaffing. In bargaining with City unions, the City administration has recently rejected demands to prevent wasteful spending on contracting out. 


January 17, 2024: Thousands of San Francisco City Workers Rally to Protect Public Services as Contract Negotiations Begin
